Infrared light is the abbreviation of night vision monitoring infrared light. It is a supplementary lighting device used with surveillance cameras to collect images at night. The light emitted by infrared light has two wavelengths, 850nm and 940nm, both of which are invisible light. It has the characteristics of concealment and energy saving. It has been widely used in the field of security monitoring in the past 10 years.
Infrared lights can be divided into the following categories based on materials:
1. LED light-emitting diodes: the most widely used, with high cost performance, and better monitoring effect within 150 meters.
2. Laser infrared light: the farthest irradiation distance can reach more than 200-2000 meters, but the luminous angle is small.
(I) Principle of infrared light-emitting diode (LED) The infrared light emitter is composed of an infrared light-emitting diode (LED) matrix. The infrared light-emitting diode is made of a material with high infrared radiation efficiency to form a PN junction, and a forward bias is applied to the PN junction to inject current to excite infrared light. The spectral power distribution is a central wavelength of 830-950nm, and the half-peak bandwidth is about 40nm. It is a narrowband distribution, which is within the range that ordinary CCD black and white cameras can sense. Its biggest advantage is that it can be completely free of red storm (using 940-950nm wavelength infrared tube) or only weak red storm (using 850nm wavelength infrared tube); it also has the characteristics of long life.
(II) Light-controlled soft switch circuit This infrared lamp adopts a light-controlled soft switch circuit to reduce the impact of its working state conversion and extend the service life of the infrared lamp.
(III) Voltage-stabilized constant current circuit In order to compensate for the difference in infrared light radiation power between winter and summer, this infrared lamp adopts a voltage-stabilized constant current circuit to stabilize the infrared light emitting diode light power, thereby improving the use effect of the infrared lamp and extending its service life.
(IV) Selection and use of infrared lamps The most important issue in the selection of infrared lamps is the completeness of the infrared lamp with the camera, lens, protective cover, power supply, etc. Some people buy surveillance cameras, lenses, protective covers, power supplies, and even consider buying infrared lamps after installation. This is incorrect. All equipment should be considered comprehensively when designing the plan, and it should be designed as an infrared low-light night vision monitoring system project.
